Professor Marko Banić, MD, PhD

Marko was born in Zagreb in 1960 and was promoted to the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, in 1983. He specialized in internal medicine (1993), subspecialized in gastroenterology and hepatology (2002), and was promoted to primarius in 2003. He trained in Germany and the USA in his professional and scientific career. Marko has been a full member of the Internist College of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences since 2004 and a fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (FEBGH) since 2011.

Author of over 100 scientific articles, professional and scientific publications, and book chapters. He is scientifically active in translational research in gastroenterology and acts as a scientific advisor and university professor.

Marko is a lecturer in ethics in clinical management at the University College in Zagreb. He also has a University Master of Health Management degree with many years of management experience as assistant Director and Director of Clinical hospital Dubrava. In his management career, he gained experience as the President and a member of the Board of Directors, the Hospitals Section President of the Association of HealthCare Employers of Croatia, an adviser to the Director of the Croatian Health Insurance Institute, and a member of the Croatian Health Insurance Institute Medicines Commission.
